Summer Series Scratch Race 4 - 2nd Feb 2025
Sunday's racing event took place under ideal conditions, characterized by a high tide, warm temperatures, and clear skies. The Southeastern wind increased from 12 km/hr in the morning to slightly over 20 km/hr by noon.
Russell explained the operation of the new start box during the pre-race briefing. He emphasised the need to cover the box during rain showers which led to the demise of its predecessor.
Several boats experienced technical difficulties early on, requiring onsite repairs or early retirement due to equipment failures. Paul demonstrated exceptional skill in maintaining his DF65's performance despite facing multiple technical challenges.
The buoybots performed exceptionally well. Andrew showcased the next edition, which maps the course on a handheld tablet. Watch this space for further developments.
