Queensland Royal Yacht Squadron – Mini Regatta 26th Oct 2024

A small but mighty team of DF65 sailors were invited to a mini regatta at the Queensland Royal Yacht Squadron charity event on Saturday. The “Regatta on the Rivira” was a top-notch affair, thanks to major sponsors and generous donors. We are pretty sure the event raised a hefty sum for both charities “Challenge DV” and the “Bayside Community Fund.”

The weather was perfect, and the racing was nail-bitingly close, with heats stretching into the evening twilight. Bob 991 (Porsche) was cruising in the lead until the final metres of the last race, where he was dramatically (some might say scandalously) overtaken by Paul in 92 (CFC Sprinter). It was a fantastic event enjoyed by all. Huge thanks to QRYS for the invite.

Rumour has it, some sailors were even more bleary-eyed on Sunday morning than a newly elected LNP candidate!
