Treasurer’s Trophy 17th November 2024 Race 1 Handicap

After Saturday’s downpour, Sunday turned out to be a warm and sunny day, perfect for racing. And what a day it was! The chance to win the coveted Treasurer’s Trophy brought out a large fleet of 18 IOMs, which was Wynnum’s largest fleet that anyone can remember (or was that last week? Whatever!).

The wind was a stable 10 km/h from the northeast, allowing for both IOM and DF65 upwind/downwind courses. Apart from one or two IOMs going walkabout and being hastily chased by the rescue boat, everyone had fun, and we had a great BBQ to finish off a superb event.

After ten heats, Trevor skilfully managed to defend his title in the IOM class and walked away with the trophy once again this year. Although the DF fleet was smaller, the racing was very close, with Greg taking the trophy this year.
